Prof. James A. Landay:
Before completing the investigation which my office is presently performing on behalf of the injured party(s), we believe it would help all concerned to receive your written answers to the following questions in advance of any litigation compelling your testimony:
(1) Have you ever made it your practice to violate the University of Washington’s written policies with respect to “Summer Only Students”? Cf. http://summer.washington.edu/summer/
(2) By what authority(s), if any, do you claim the right to conduct regular private meetings on the Seattle campus of the University of Washington, without renting the space for same?
(3) Have any of your research contracts and grants ever been formally audited or otherwise reviewed as a result of allegations that you or your subordinates have misused such funds in any manner?
(4) Have you ever been disciplined or reprimanded in any manner by any Computer Science faculty committees, or by other organized academic groups within the University of Washington at large?
(5) Are you currently involved in any research which could be logically construed as an attempt to increase and/or enforce electronic or computer-based surveillance of American Citizens without their knowledge or consent?
(6) What is your current professional relationship with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, if any?
(7) What is your current professional relationship with the Microsoft Corporation, if any?
(8) Are you at all familiar with the history and outcome of anti-trust litigation in the case of USA et al. v. MICROSOFT CORP., USDC/D.C. dockets #98-1232 (CKK) and #98-1233 (CKK)? If so, please elaborate.
(9) Please explain your honest understanding of Chapter 42.52 RCW (ethics in public service) as applied to current faculty of the University of Washington at Seattle? Cf. 42.52.220 RCW.
(10) Have you ever directed academic staff of the CSE Department to summon UW campus police, for the purpose of ousting a registered Summer Only Student who was also enrolled in a Summer CSE class? If so, please elaborate i.e. explain your reasons and intent.
(11) Are you at all familiar with the seven (7) years of pro bono assistance which the Undersigned performed for U.S. Coast Guard Investigations at San Diego Harbor? If so, please elaborate.
(12) Did you, or did you not, witness the Undersigned state in a Design Use Build (“DUB”) meeting on June 24, 2009, that he had assisted the U.S. Coast Guard with positive identification of the murder weapons deployed against the Pentagon on the morning of 9/11/2001? Cf. “Executive Summary” (January 12, 2009).
