YOUR FAIR WARNING

Some people might consider some of the things here offensive. Well, besides the fact that those people are repressed and lack adequate ways of dealing with the guilt trips they've been giving themselves since those first prepubescent doubts, part of my right to be offensive is their right to just move on. Take advantage of this right at your leisure! :)

Bill Clinton, who by the way, does all of his own stunts, challenged the computer industry to employ new technology to make online porn harder to find. Clinton called for a universal labeling system to keep children away from offensive web sites and make sure no one will have to waste time browsing through disappointing soft-core.

Industry reps agreed the "family control" technology already exists, it's just that kids won't explain it to their parents.

CDA Ruled Unconstitutional!

"As a matter of constitutional tradition, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, we presume that governmental regulation of the content of speech is more likely to interfere with the free exchange of ideas than to encourage it. The interest in encouraging freedom of expression in a democratic society outweighs any theoretical but unproven benefit of censorship."
-- Justice John Paul Stevens, U.S. Supreme Court, 06/26/97

This server is run by KevinTX because a person can't be truly free without the freedom of expression.

The current top Paranoia logo graphic is by Jeff. Would you like to be next?

When they took the fourth amendment, I was quiet because I didn't deal drugs.
When they took the sixth amendment, I was quiet because I was innocent.
When they took the second amendment, I was quiet because I didn't own a gun.
Now they've taken the first amendment, and I can say nothing about it.

www.paranoia.com originates from a Linux server with 40MB RAM, on our own T-1 (1536 Kbps) connection, using/recommending the full-featured Apache free httpd, and with a near-perfect online attendance record since June 1994 (at just 14.4k, 56k, & 128k for 8 months before going T-1).

Routine maintenance, extremely heavy traffic, routing screwups, and other technical difficulties (rare on our server itself but sometimes a tough fact of life on the Net) might impede your access at times, but please try again later! God and Paranoia's supporters willing, we are here to stay!

The recorded "high scores" for one week's statistics on www.paranoia.com (not including virtual servers) are 1,659,974 (successful transfers) accesses and (in a different week) visitors from 166,385 unique IP addresses.

The pages and links on this server are continually under construction.. even Austin's Highways 71 and 183 are finished! (grin) In the early days, I kept up with all the media sightings of this server, but there have just been way too many. I've heard about 75+ "Paranoia sightings" in major magazines and newspapers worldwide (recently the New York Times front page), several television shows, and more. I'd still enjoy hearing about any particularly interesting sightings.. send detailed reports to me at kevintx@paranoia.com.

The Austin Chronicle gave Paranoia an honorable mention (the Chronicle's own site won) in Best of Austin '96 for Best Local Website (annual enormous readers poll). Who knows, more people may know that Paranoia is an Austin website and get out to vote for us in '97. Each winner gets a giant outdoor banner and I'll find a good way to display mine digitally if Paranoia is given the honor.

Give Texas Monthly magazine hell for reviewing the Top 100 Texas Websites in August and only ranking Paranoia #50! Sheesh!

Paranoia.com is not affiliated with the zine "Paranoia: The Conspiracy Reader", but that's a pretty cool zine. You can e-mail their editor at ALHIDELL@aol.com for information; I don't think they've hit the WWW yet.

La Paranoia Home Page is accessed over 30,000 times each week!
