WD recommends their "RAID Edition" ("RE") HDDs
for all RAID arrays: cf. "Time Limited Error Recovery":

And, you'll get much better performance from RAID arrays
assembled with HDDs that use PMR (perpendicular magnetic
recording) and 32MB cache.
