It too is a recombinant retrovirus. A retrovirus is one which mimics reverse transcriptase, the enzyme which helps the DNA chain to "unzip". Once unzipped, the separate sub-chains attract identical biological components from their immediate environment, to reproduce two identical chains. A retrovirus invades the incomplete sub-chains and locks into subsequent chains a mutation, which has the capability of reproducing itself along with healthy DNA chains. Help, anybody? There MUST a few errors in what I just wrote; but I did the best I could to delve into a somewhat blurred memory about these things, circa 1990. BTW, does anyone know who murdered Dr. Strecker's brother? It is a little difficult to shoot yourself in the head with a hunting rifle, particularly when it is found clutched by the hand opposite the head wound. /s/ Paul Mitchell http://www.supremelaw.com At 09:18 AM 6/30/97 -0400, you wrote: > >-> SearchNet's SNETNEWS Mailing List > >Anybody have any further info on this? > >Source: Los Angeles Times >http://www.latimes.com/HOME/COMMUN/NEWS/ZONE27A/t000057429209.html > > > Friday, June 27, 1997 > >Hantavirus Ruled Out in Death of Woman With Flu-Like Symptoms > >RIVERSIDE--Laboratory tests have determined that something other than >hantavirus killed a Hemet woman who died after cleaning a mountain cabin, >authorities said Thursday. > >Blood tests on the body of [the woman, aged] 44, proved negative for the >virus, authorities said.
