I didn't say that they did.

They are supreme Law of the Land, however, 
pursuant to the Supremacy Clause, Article VI,
Clause 2.

Read it:  "... all Treaties made, or which shall
be made, under the Authority of the United States,
shall be the supreme Law of the Land; ...."

I think this gives the human Rights treaties
much more importance than they have enjoyed
hitherto.
