The military installed them in their
tanks during the Iraq war.  Mechanics
were told never to disassemble the
carburetors;  they were to be installed,
and replaced, as whole units.  The 
exteriors of the units were marked:

         "POGUE"

Call the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs 
of Staff, and see how far you get!  :)

Byron Wine also has his research posted
on a website, I believe.
