I'm not trying to "impress" you.
And I am not trying to "dictate" to you.
I AM trying to communicate to you
a basic principle of law, which
goes back centuries. You are governed
by the laws(s) of the land where
you were born. You also tend to
acquire the language(s) spoken there.

If you want to expatriate from this
status, Congress has enacted statutes
to make that possible. But, your birth
does create certain presumptions about
your legal status, and that status
is tied to the land, to the territory
where you were born. If you were born
in D.C. and continued to live in D.C.,
you would not be a Citizen of any of
the several States.
