The One who made the Universe is eternal, and knows all things, past, present, and future. If certain events will "coincide" in the future, the Creator is certainly in a position to tell us that such-and-such will happen at approximately the same time as something else. This is no different from saying that such-and-such will happen at 12:00 noon. In other words, the hands on the clock do not really "portend" the event; it is just that the One who can see the future can certainly tell us what to look for (like the big hand touching the twelve at exactly the same moment as the little hand).
