Subject: Burnett v. Commissioner, USDC Virgin Islands

Hello Josh,

Thanks for this message.

The individual who provided me with the
initial report on Burnett is someone
in whom I had placed a lot of trust.

It was only later that the original
message came under suspicion.

That was the main reason why I went
to the trouble of paying the Clerk
of Court in the Virgin Islands for
a certified copy of the entire docket
file, from which I learned that the
original post had made the serious
mistake of quoting the Plaintiff's
petition as the court's ORDER.

Since receiving the full file, I have
repeatedly told people about this mistake,
even when it has meant that people decide
against paying me anything for a copy.

It is certainly an important lesson
to learn that I cannot, and should not,
trust anything which comes across the
Internet, without first checking it.

I can say this: the evidence concerning
the definition of "State" in the Internal
Revenue Code, which was the reason for
my original interest Burnett, is fully
substantiated by the letter which
U.S. Representative Barbara Kennelly
sent to a man in California, in January
of 1996.

I do steer people to the Kennelly evidence,
and away from the Burnett case, if that is
what they are looking for. Remember that
Kennelly simply repeated what she had been
told by the Legislative Counsel's office,
and the staff of the Congressional Research
Service. Maybe it's time to subpoena these
people, and obtain their sworn testimony
concerning this incident. That is a much
more fruitful avenue than Burnett, wouldn't
you agree?

As for my credibility being on the line,
there are enough lies circulating about me
to fill an ocean, and along with those lies,
there are plenty of people who have chosen
to believe those lies. I have chosen to
ignore them, unless the lies result in
real damages to me. I will decide if and
when that happens. Nor will I be subjected
to any standard of perfection. I am striving
for excellence, but not for perfection.
The former is achievable; the latter is not.

If people want to forget that I am a human
being, that is their problem, not mine.

While I am thinking of it, I invite you to
enroll in the Supreme Law School. Registration
details are available at our Web site (see below).

One last thing: I do not participate very often
in the Supreme Law forum. I prefer to steer
people to email communications, either private,
or via the many lists which are currently
operating. You will get much faster responses
from me if you use private (and courteous) email.

Thanks for your interest.
