It does not mean, or imply, English "sick."
"Sic. Latin. Thus; so; in such manner."
[Black's Law Dictionary, Sixth Edition]
"Sic transit gloria mundi."
means
"Thus passes the glory of the world."
When someone makes a mistake, and you are
quoting the mistake verbatim, it is proper
to putt [sic] after the misspelled word,
as I have done here.
