Time: Fri Nov 15 19:11:09 1996 To: snetnews@world.std.com From: Paul Andrew Mitchell [address in tool bar] Subject: Church of Scientology: David Miscavige Cc: Bcc: They paid for full-page ads several years ago, criticizing the federal income tax. The ads stated that the 16th amendment had been "enacted." I wrote to the director of the Religious Technology Center and explained that there was an historical error in their ad, because the 16th was never really ratified. I had to write a second letter, when the first one was ignored. My second letter was answered by a secretary, sternly demanding that I cease all communications with the director. What was really interesting about the letter was the letterhead: expensive cotton bond, with a gold-embossed logo at the top, shaped in a pyramid shape, with other symbols orbiting around the pyramid. I showed this letter to a friend, without prompting him in any way. I merely asked, "What do you make of this?" His IMMEDIATE response was: "Masonic!" To this day, I still agree with him. /s/ Paul Mitchell At 12:11 PM 11/16/96 +1100, you wrote: > >-> SearchNet's snetnews Mailing List > > Hi.
