: In April of 1933 ..Texas made some more laws about the flag..Did other states do the same thing...I also read in a child history book on flags that Texas in 1865 had to take down the Texas flag and put up the confederate flag so that Texas could be take over by the U.S. armies. As most of you know about Texas history , Texas did not become part of the confederate states . They went back to being a country . So for the U.S. to take them over they had to become part of the confederate states that lost the war....So the flag played an important part in this war...The world does know about flags and the part in plays in war and peace...I also know the conferderate flag had a white border which means peace...until the first shot on them from the sea...
That story about Texas not being part of the Confederacy is pretty much false.
Texas, unlike other Confederate States, held a
referendum to decide the issue...meaning that Texas
citizens went to the polls and voted to secede.
Texas never reverted back to an independent Republic
during the Civil War or any other time.
