A Treatise on the Principles of Pleading in Civil Actions: Comprising A Summary View of the Whole Proceedings in A Suit At Law (Pure Common law). By Henry John Stephen, (Sergeant at law) Third American Edition from the second London Edition: Approx. 480 pages. This book shows the proper way to carry on a suit at law in accordance with the VII amendment of the constitution of the United States of America. This book was written right before the Civil War and saw the introduction of Code pleading (which is Roman Civil Law and not authorized in any constitution) and provided an argument in the introduction of this book on why to stay within the rules of the common law. This is a MUST HAVE!!!
