Very well stated. The sixteenth amendment is certainly missing the enabling legislation. I urge everyone to take a look at the contsitution. Look at amendment 14, 15 etc. You will notice Article one and Article two. Two being the enabling legislation. The 16th has ONLY Article one!!!!
There are numerous court decisions that have laid out the case that the 16th did not give congress any NEW taxing powers and in fact state that Congress CANNOT define Income.

I have recently listened to a couple of tapes of interviews with the IRS and a citizen demanding that the law making this citizen "liable for an income tax" be produced before he would pay one cent. I found it interesting that when this person confronted the IRS agents with court cases substantiating his position, the IRS simply stated "we have a difference of opinion".
I ask what makes their "opinion" any more valid than my "opinion". If we are dealing with Opinions,then it would seem we have little to worry about. But if there is a law that makes a citizen of the fifty states "liable" why can't anyone produce it?
