REQUEST IS HEREBY MADE OF THIS HONORABLE COURT, under
authority of the California Evidence Code, Sections 452 and 453,
that judicial notice be taken of the following matters, to the
extent that they are not embraced within Section 451 of the
California Evidence Code:
(a) the decisional, constitutional and statutory laws of
any State of the United States, and the resolutions and private
acts of the Congress of the United States and of the Legislature
of this State;

(b) the regulations and legislative enactments issued by or
under the authority of the United States or any public entity in
the United States;
(c) the official acts of the legislative, executive and
judicial departments of the United States, and of any State of
the United States;
(d) records of any court of record of the United States, or
of any State of the United States.
Pursuant to Section 453 of the Evidence Code, Petitioner
hereby furnishes this Honorable Court with the People's "List of
Exhibits" as a pleading, and draws specific attention to Exhibits
"U" and "V" as listed therein. Said Exhibits contain verified
copies of selections from the trial transcripts and post-trial
motions of William J. Benson, as filed in the case of U.S. v.
Benson, Docket Number 87 CR 278, in the United States District
Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division,
and as cited in the verified Affidavit of William J. Benson.
Petitioner also draws specific attention to Exhibits "D",
"R", and "S", which contain direct and indirect bibliographic
references to matters of evidence which are covered by Section
452 of the Evidence Code and mentioned above.
