DATE: August 18, 2000 SUBJECT: Hyper-Text Links to Stolen Intellectual Property TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Our position in re: Internet hyper-text links to stolen and/or modified & derivative copies of "The Federal Zone" now follows: For full details, see Internet URL: http://www.supremelaw.com/copyrite/aol.com/complaint.htm Such links point to domain(s) currently managed by direct, criminal copyright infringer(s), in violation of 17 U.S.C. 506(a)(2): http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/17/506.html (a)(2) These hyper-text links are real "links in a chain of evidence" providing directions to stolen property and/or to those responsible for the stolen and modified intellectual property. Anyone intent on contacting principal violators can follow this chain of evidence, right to their front door! Their "intent" is criminal if its purpose is to obtain stolen intellectual property without payment and without authorization. See also URL: http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/2319.html (c)(1) We have now filed proper criminal complaints against all principal violators (i.e. direct copyright infringers). Only after FBI received our criminal complaint, did domain DEOXY.ORG remove any of the stolen files; then, they simply changed some text, but left most of their URL's intact. So, a once valid link constitutes material evidence of past copyright infringement(s) (how far in the past, is simply irrelevant). See: http://www.supremelaw.com/wwwboard/messages/1200.html http://www.supremelaw.com/wwwboard/messages/1221.html Clicking on a link moves the file to the client's computer! This is EXACTLY how the Internet works. Even if the target file is later moved or removed, the continued existence of links to that file is material evidence of indirect copyright infringements. And, isn't it just amazing that all these links all point to the very same, limited number of places? For a partial list, see URL: http://www.supremelaw.com/copyrite/domains.htm This is not a coincidence; rather, it is positive proof of close cooperation among all the violators. See, in particular: http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/241.html http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/242.html To repeat, CLICKING ON A LINK MOVES THE TARGET FILE FROM THE SERVER COMPUTER TO THE CLIENT'S COMPUTER! See also the URL's at the end of our Copyright Amnesty Program: http://www.supremelaw.com/letters/amnesty.htm in re: direct and indirect infringements, and the excellent glossary of terms. Shareware is NOT freeware [sic], and never has been! The Copyright Amnesty Program has expired. Sincerely yours, /s/ Paul Andrew Mitchell Paul Andrew Mitchell, B.A., M.S.
