Dear Lloyd Miller:
Mr. James H. Daughety is now suspected of
criminal copyright infringement. See URL:
http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/2319.html
He may have had accomplices, whose exact identity(s)
are presently not known to us.
Our criminal complaints will also name
anyone who linked to the stolen and modified
copies, wherever such copies may have resided
on the Internet. If Mr. Daugherty did not pay for
the copy(s) he received, he needs to consider
the Copyright Amnesty Program VERY seriously.
Criminal conspiracy is a separate offense,
in addition to copyright infringement.
If ISP's have aided and abetted these criminal
violations, in any way, they can also expect
similar criminal complaints to be filed
against their officers, principals, and
employees.
We have already begun to file verified criminal
complaints with specific FBI offices around
the country, with copies to certain mayors
and chiefs of police. This is my legal duty,
pursuant to 18 U.S.C. 4 (misprision of felony);
see 18 U.S.C. 241, 242.
If he has not paid for the book beyond the
stated deadline, Mr. Daugherty can expect us to file
criminal charges against ALL unpaid "linkers",
because they effectively saturated the market
with degenerate derivatives of the original book.
This is theft, plain and simple. A more charitable
description would be "a tragedy of the commons" --
a flock of ravenous birds, each taking their
"peck" and flying away. Try walking into any
book store and walking out with $25 worth of
books without paying for them!
For background on this question, see the
documents at the website of the Software &
Information Industry Association, cited at
the end of the Copyright Amnesty Program,
as they pertain to "shareware", "linking",
and ISP's who have pirates for customers.
Creating a link is material evidence of use
and of copyright infringement. The Preface
in ALL editions contained explicit Copyright
notices, a price schedule, and warnings
not to copy the book without paying for it,
and not to remove any Capitalization, bold,
underlines, or italics.
If you have any more questions, please put
them in writing and mail them to the mailing
location listed in the order form for the book
at Internet URL:
http://supremelaw.org/fedzone9/order.htm
There are just too many violators for us to
support each one with individual replies to
every email message they might generate,
from this point forward.
They have damaged me seriously, and now they
want me to help them? What's wrong with this
picture?
Well, the Copyright Amnesty Program is all
the help they can expect, from now on.
Thank you.
/s/ Paul Andrew Mitchell, B.A., M.S.
