In Reply to: And what does Alex Kozinski have to say about all this? (Re: PLEASE CONTACT SUPERVISOR ON NINTH CIRCUIT) posted by Ram Samudrala, Ph.D. on July 25, 1998 at 01:10:11:

Judge Kozinski does not supervise my authorship
of "The Federal Zone" in any way.

Failure to remove links, after proper notice,
is clearly a contributory infringement.

Moreover, all readers were given adequate
notice of the $25 fee in the Preface.

Failure to read this proper and lawful notice
is not the fault of the author.

Creating a link is proof that a copy was made.
Merely testing a new link will begin downloading
files to the violator's personal computer.

It sounds to me as if the post above was written
by an academic who would rather spend hours
in the law library, worrying his own defense
into sleepless nights, rather than to pay
the simple $25 fee.

Such strange priorities, indeed!

Are those the priorities they are teaching
at Stanford Medical School these days?

Excuse me, but I'm glad I never even
considered medical school (see "The Cancer
Industry").
