While asking about the law that makes ANY Citizen liable for the taxes being collected by IRS, why not ask:
1. Whether the so-called Income Tax is a direct tax on people - subject to apportionment;
2. a Direct Tax on Property - subject to apportionment; or,
3. an indirect tax on activities of privilege (excises).
Then ask what, if the last (3) be true, what the particular activity of American men and women is that is universally taxable.
This should set someone to fiddling, fidgeting, scurrying, etc., etc.
We think that if you're not having fun, you're doing something wrong. :-)
