Great idea, and long overdue, Paul.
This approach should filter out the majority of the mindless riffraff like the so-called "MARTIN" regardless of what current "name of war" he is using.
On the other hand, I seriously doubt that legitimate freedom lovers will have a problem paying such a minimal fee in order to participate in this type of dialogue. Because the true seeker after knowledge and freedom already knows that freedom is not free. It comes at great cost to everyone who enjoys its benefits. Perhaps by getting rid of the hangers-on who contribute nothing to the dialogue except disruption, the forum can become even more productive.
I would suggest that you consider leaving the board open to the public for viewing, as it now is, but require user signon in order to post messages.
